Janet is a renown Australian Equine Artist with over 30 years experience.

Janet has completed many commissions in that time, both in Australia and overseas. Her longest commission started in 1981 and was to paint every Melbourne Cup winner since Archer in 1861.

The paintings are featured in the Melbourne Cup Calendars, which have been produced every year since 1982.
This project was originally commissioned by Melbourne businessman Peter Karol. Peter’s intention was to complete all paintings by Australia’s Bicentenary in 1988.
The paintings were exhibited at the Racing Museum at Caulfield Racecourse.

The exhibition was opened by Bart Cummings and a video, with commentary by the late Bill Collins, was produced. The project is still continuing, through Ross and Vanessa McKay, with the Melbourne Cup winner being painted every year.

Janet's largest commission, in dimensions, was to paint the "Triple Dead Heat" mural for her local Stony Creek Racing Club. This was to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the historic Triple Dead Heat in 1987.
Janet's late husband, Claude, helped her with this mural, and sadly, lost his long battle with cancer shortly after finishing it in February 2007.

Janet and Claude bred and raced horses for 20 years. They had some success and very many dramas.

That's Racing!
